Ravens CB Domonique Foxworth has been placed on season-ending injured reserve, the team announced Wednesday.
Foxworth is coming off of knee surgery from a torn ACL last year and hasn't recovered the way he or the team would like. He played in the first two games of the season.
To take his spot on the 53-man roster, the Ravens re-signed OLB Prescott Burgess.
The way we see it
This move is a major blow to the Ravens' depth at cornerback. Foxworth had struggled with his recovery from the ACL tear suffered in July 2010, but the hope was that he could contribute in some form this season.
Presently, the Ravens are starting Cary Williams and Lardarius Webb at cornerback, and neither was expected to start entering the season. Rookie Jimmy Smith has the most upside of the group, but he has an ankle injury that has kept him out of the last two games.
