The Jets have re-signed OLB Aaron Maybin, the team announced Wednesday.

Maybin was with the Jets during training camp but was cut before the season started.

A former first-round pick of the Bills, Maybin has 23 tackles and zero sacks in his NFL career.

The way we see it

Maybin was actually better than expected during his stint with the Jets in training camp and had a shot of making the initial 53-man roster.

Rex Ryan and the Jets have been searching for an individual pass rusher to get consistent pressure on the quarterback without having to resort to the exotic blitz since he got to New York.

But Maybin was a colossal bust with the Bills, unable to register a sack in his two seasons in Buffalo. Just like he did with the Jets' own bust of a first-rounder, Vernon Gholston, Ryan appears intent on giving the former first-rounder every opportunity to prove his worth.
