According to a report by the San Diego Union-Tribune, Chargers All-Pro TE Antonio Gates will see a foot specialist on Tuesday to find out more about his sore right foot.
Gates, who was a late scratch from Sunday's 20-17 victory over the Chiefs after doing little against the Patriots the week before, reportedly is having issues with scar tissue in his foot.
The team and Gates both believe that it's a matter of pain tolerance and that he hasn't not done any further damage to his foot but he is going to see the specialist to get another opinion.
Gates caught eight passes for 74 yards in the season-opening win over the Vikings before being shut out by the Patriots.
The seven-time Pro Bowler is coming off a 2010 season that saw him catch 50 passes for 782 yards and 10 touchdowns in 10 games before suffering a season-ending foot injury.
