Packers-Bears prediction

PFW executive editor Dan Arkush offers his prediction for the Week Three showdown between the Packers and the Bears at Soldier Field.

All three matchups between these archrivals last season, including the NFC title game, were flat-out wars. I see another down-to-the-wire bone-cruncher in the making, with the Bears playing much better than they did in their meltdown against the Saints. There's a lot to like about the Packers so far this season, especially the offense. But they are not going to go undefeated. I see them at 2-1 after losing a game that turns in the Bears' favor following a late turnover, similar to last year's Week Three game in Chicago.

Although I think Green Bay's undermanned secondary might play better than a lot of people think with Nick Collins being out, I believe a more balanced Bears offense and a strong defensive effort featuring DT Henry Melton, who was invisible vs. New Orleans, will be the keys in a Bears victory.

Prediction: Bears 24, Packers 22
