Was the hiring of well-regarded special-teams coordinator Brad Seely  the best offseason move made by the Niners? "It just might be," one team insider said. "Everybody in the building loves 'The Professor.' He's always very clear and concise, but he doesn't overburden his guys; he lets them just play." Head coach Jim Harbaugh couldn't agree more with that assessment. "It's outstanding the way he gets his point across and teaches the game," Harbaugh said of Seely, who also holds the title of assistant head coach to Harbaugh. "Not just special teams, but broader — tackling, leverage and angles. It's really, really good." What also has been really good in the early going is the kicking duo of PK David Akers and P Andy Lee. "Akers has shown that he still has plenty of life left in his leg," the insider said. "He kicks such a high, straight ball. And Lee has been just outstanding."
