Bengals second-year WR Jordan Shipley tore his ACL in Sunday's loss to the Broncos and will miss the rest of the 2011 season, head coach Marvin Lewis confirmed Monday.
Shipley had four catches for 14 yards this season. He had a very productive rookie season, catching 52 balls for 600 yards and three scores.
The way we see it
Andre Caldwell is a capable veteran inside receiver who should pick up the slack with Shipley out. Look for rookie Ryan Whalen to also get more looks. Shipley's loss is tough for the passing game, which features a lot of short, quick throws from rookie QB Andy Dalton.
