The Patriots have agreed to a two-year contract extension with OLB Rob Ninkovich, keeping him off the free agent market following the season. Terms of the deal were not released.
Ninkovich came to the Patriots in 2009 and has had a productive career with the team. Last season he started 10 regular season games, registering four sacks and 62 tackles.
The way we see it
After not doing much early in his career on the Saints and Dolphins, Ninkovich is another in a long line of players who were other team's trash, but Bill Belichick's treasure. The linebacker had a breakout year last season and can get after the quarterback, as well as contributing on special teams.
