Browns OT Tony Pashos (ankle) was ruled out for Sunday's game at Indianapolis on Friday, and Artis Hicks will likely start in Pashos' place, head coach Pat Shurmur said.

Asked if either Hicks or Oniel Cousins, who started last week's game at right tackle, had established themselves as the top replacement for Pashos, Shurmur said: "Not really, we'll probably start Artis in there, but you'll see Oniel in there as well."

Shurmur said Pashos will likely soon shed his walking boot protecting the injured ankle, but Shurmur noted "there is a chance" Pashos could be out for a few more weeks.

The way we see it

The Browns' ORT play Sunday will be key, with Colts DLE Robert Mathis one of the AFC's top pass rushers. However, Mathis was limited Thursday with a neck injury and sat out practice altogether Wednesday and Friday. He's listed as questionable for Week Two.
