The Dolphins have re-signed CB Will Allen and officially terminated the contract of CB Benny Sapp.
The team announced the news on Wednesday morning.
Allen was released by the Dolphins on Sept. 3. He originally came to Miami as an unrestricted free agent from the Giants in 2006. He did not play in 2010 while recovering from a knee injury suffered during the ’09 season. Allen, the 22nd player taken in the 2001 NFL draft, has started 124 NFL games and recorded 15 career interceptions.
Sapp, who was the team's slot corner, was stiff-armed on Wes Welker's 99-yard touchdown catch on Monday night. He did help force a Tom Brady interception in the loss. He played in all 16 games last season for Miami with six starts. Sapp had 10 passes defensed and two interceptions.
