Rams CB Ron Bartell will miss the rest of the 2011 season with a fractured bone in his lower neck.

Despite the severity of the injury, Bartell plans on returning to the Rams next season.

"My goal is to play again," he told PFW correspondent and St. Louis Post-Dispatch writer Jim Thomas. "I'm fully prepared to play again. I'm approaching it as such that I will play again."

Bartell has spent all seven NFL seasons with the Rams. He has 54 career passes defensed and eight picks.

According to Thomas, the team worked out CBs Fred Bennett, Rod Hood, Nathan Jones and Robert McClain on Tuesday.
