The Rams could be without some of their top players for the coming weeks after releasing a lengthy injury update on Monday.

Head coach Steve Spagnuolo announced that RB Steven Jackson will likely miss the team's next game, Sept. 19 vs. the Giants, because of a strained quadriceps. Jackson's departure from the lineup could provide more snaps for backup Cadillac Williams.

QB Sam Bradford also is banged up, having bruised his right index finger. Thankfully for the QB, nothing is broken, and his status for next week's contest is unknown, as Spagnuolo said that Bradford will be monitored by doctors this week. The same could be said about OT Jason Smith's ankle sprain. The coach told the media Smith did not suffer a high ankle sprain, making him day-to-day.

The serious injuries happened to WR Danny Amendola and CB Ron Bartell. Amendola suffered an elbow injury that may require surgery, though the team is unsure of that at the moment. He will miss the coming weeks even if he doesn't need an operation. Bartell suffered fractures in his neck, which Spagnuolo said would have him missing "extended time," and maybe even the entire year.

Also, CB Bradley Fletcher has a sprained toe and DE C.J. Ah You has a wrist injury, leaving both of them day-to-day. TE Michael Hoomanawanui is off the injury report and is healthy from his preseason calf injury.
