The Browns and DT Ahtyba Rubin have agreed on a three-year contract extension, Adam Caplan of reported on Twitter.

CBS Sports' Charlie Casserly also reported on Twitter that the Browns had agreed to a deal with Rubin.

Rubin, 25, notched 82 tackles in 2010. The Browns had made re-signing him a priority, and they apparently were able to strike him a deal with him before his current contract expired at the end of this season.

The way we see it

Rubin's agent, Alan Herman, told PFW on Friday that the two sides were apart on the amount of guaranteed money to be included in a new contract for Rubin. Though terms of the deal have not been reported, it seems both sides were able to resolve any differences to strike a deal to keep one of Cleveland's key defender in the fold for the next few seasons.
