The Cowboys have signed TE Jason Witten to a five-year contract extension, ESPN reported Sunday.
The five-year deal is worth $37 million with $19 million guaranteed. Witten confirmed the extension on his Twitter page.
"I am blessed to say that I will retire a cowboy!" he wrote. "Thx to the jones family, and all the cowboy staff! True honor to put on the star!! #gameday."
Witten's 617 receptions rank second in franchise history behind Michael Irvin. He had 94 catches for 1,002 yards and nine touchdowns last season.
Witten, 29, is a seven-time Pro Bowler. He has surpassed 1,000 yards receiving in three of the last four seasons.
