WR DeSean Jackson has seen the Eagles sign off on several big-money deals this offseason save for his own. Now, we hear, he's extremely motivated to go out and prove to his team — or another, if the Eagles are not willing to pay — that he is worth front-line playmaker cash. There were times last season, especially early, when Jackson looked to be elite in this department, ringing up one long touchdown after another. The Eagles have to be thrilled that Jackson is turning this situation into a positive and not being petulant. They know they are rolling the dice by having Jackson be their primary punt returner, but it's what he apparently wants and he's by far their best option there. But Jackson also has critics as a receiver. He caught only one TD pass in his final seven games last season and was quiet in the preseason with two receptions. What he does on offense on a game-to-game basis will go a long way toward determining the value of his next contract.
