The Jets cut WR Mardy Gilyard, according to multiple reports. Gilyard joined the team's 53-man roster on Sunday after being cut by the Rams.
The New York Daily News reported that CB Isaiah Trufant will be signed from the practice squad to take Gilyard's place.
In 11 games last season, Gilyard had six catches for 63 yards as a rookie for the Rams. He was claimed by the Jets to add depth at wide receiver.
Trufant played in one game last season and had two tackles.
The Jets will enter their season opener against the Cowboys with four receivers on the roster — Santonio Holmes, Plaxico Burress, Derrick Mason and Jeremy Kerley.
