The NFL has suspended Vikings DT Kevin Williams, Saints DE Will Smith and free-agent DL Pat Williams and Charles Grant for the first two games of the season and docked them two game checks.

Kevin Williams tested positive in 2008 for using StarCaps, a banned diuretic. Along with Pat Williams, Kevin initially received a four-game suspension but brought the issue to court, claiming they didn't know StarCaps could mask the presence of steroids.

The Minnesota Supreme Court in April ruled in favor of the league, which decided to reduce Williams' suspension to two games.

Williams has been battling a foot injury in camp. Last season, Williams started all 16 games and made 39 tackles, one sack and 10 passes defensed.

Smith had 5.5 sacks last season for the Saints.
