The Buccaneers cut MLB Tyrone McKenzie on Friday. McKenzie is a former third-round pick of the Patriots.
He confirmed the news to the Tampa Tribune. Entering training camp, McKenzie was a candidate to replace Barrett Ruud at middle linebacker, but rookie Mason Foster won the starting job.
McKenzie had five tackles in three games last season for the Bucs.
According to the St. Petersburg Times, Tampa Bay also cut DE Kyle Moore and DT John McCargo.
