Titans second-year DE Derrick Morgan will miss the team's season opener after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, head coach Mike Munchak said Tuesday.

Morgan, the team's first-round pick in the 2010 draft, played in four games last season before tearing his ACL. He recorded 1½ sacks.

Munchak said that Morgan had the surgery Monday in Alabama. Dr. James Andrews performed the surgery. Morgan could be out up to three weeks.

Morgan has four tackles this preseason, but he felt something in his knee in the second preseason game.

The way we see it

Munchak called this only a small setback for Morgan, who looked very good as a rookie before the ACL injury. The Titans have good depth up front as they wait for him to return to action.
