DE Alex Brown has been released by the Saints, according to a tweet he sent on Tuesday afternoon.
Brown wrote on his account, "It saddens me to say that I have been released from the Saints because their a first class organization and I will miss it. Good luck to the guys and Who Dat Nation keep roaring... My family and I had a blast here.. Thanks."
The nine-year vet spent one season in New Orleans after eight with the Bears. He has only missed on career game, which took place in his rookie season, and has made 123 career starts.
In 2010, Brown recorded just two sacks, the lowest total of his career.
