O'Callaghan has missed most of training camp with an undisclosed injury. He started 12 games in 2009. Last season, he played in 11 games with one start after losing his job to Barry Richardson.
The Chiefs also cut PK Todd Carter to get their roster to 80 players.
The way we see it
With out, the Chiefs will rely on Richardson to start at right tackl across from OLT Branden Albert. Jared Gaither, a free agent signing from the Ravens, is the team's third tackle, backing up the starters on both sides. The K.C. offensive line is inexperienced and lacks depth, which could be a problem for the team.
