The Browns have been assigned OT Oniel Cousins, after he was placed on waivers by the Ravens on Aug. 27.

Cousins, a 2008 third-round pick by the Ravens, was battling for the starting ORT job in preseason before moving to right guard. Once the team picked up free agents Bryant McKinnie and Mark LeVoir, it deemed Cousins expendable.

Cousins started four games in three seasons with the Ravens.

The way we see it

The Browns are looking for veteran OL depth with starting OLG Eric Steinbach sidelined with a back injury. Cousins was a big disappointment in Baltimore, but he was playing out of position at tackle.

He's more of a guard, and if he's inserted between Pro Bowl OLT Joe Thomas and Pro Bowl C Alex Mack, he might be serviceable.
