Steelers QB Byron Leftwich is likely done for the year after breaking his left, non-throwing arm in Saturday night's preseason game against the Falcons, according to multiple reports.

Head coach Mike Tomlin would not confirm it was a season-ending injury, but did say it would keep him out "an extended period of time."

Leftwich suffered the injury after landing on his arm following a six-yard scramble.

The ninth-year veteran played in just one game last season. The Steelers have Charlie Batch and Dennis Dixon as backups for QB Ben Roethlisberger.
