Eagles OT Ryan Harris needs surgery on a herniated disc in his back, according to CSNPhilly.com.

Harris, who joined the Eagles this offseason after four seasons with the Broncos, was in the discussion for the starting job at right tackle.

Injures have plagued Harris in his pro career, as he played in 19 games the past two seasons after starting all 16 in 2008. He missed the last two preseason games and has been out of practice.

Winston Justice is coming off a knee injury and, with Harris out, King Dunlap remains a top candidate to start at right tackle.
