Cowboys C Phil Costa, who had taken the place of starting C Andre Gurode earlier in camp, has a sprained posterior cruciate ligament and will be out 2-4 weeks, the Dallas Morning News reported.

Costa, a second-year player, won't need surgery on the right knee, but could miss the team's season opener against the Jets.

Gurode had offseason knee surgery, but has returned to practice. Costa had played well enough in camp to push for a starting job on the line.
