The Cowboys have agreed to a long-term extension with CB Orlando Scandrick, keeping one of their top young defenders locked up for the foreseeable future.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Scandrick and the team have worked out a five-year deal worth $27 million. Of that, PFW confirmed that $10.7 million is guaranteed.

Scandrick has played in all 48 games since being drafted in the fifth round of the 2008 draft. He has 133 career tackles and 22 passes defensed.

The way we see it

Last season Scandrick played in the slot and was one of Dallas' top cornerbacks. Because of injuries, he might get a chance to play on the outside this season. The team is very high on him, which is shown by this long-term deal.
