Buccaneers rookie LB Mason Foster was fined $20,000 for his hit on Patriots WR Chad Ochocinco in their preseason game last week. The news was first reported by WFTS-TV in Tampa Bay,
The TV station reports that Foster said he is willing to pay that hit and move on, though many believed the tackle he made on the New England wideout was legal. Ochocinco was coming across the middle of the field when Foster, the team's third-round pick, made a play to break up the pass. The ball fell incomplete, but the rookie was flagged for unnecessary roughness.
Ochocinco tweeted at commissioner Roger Goodell that he didn't agree with the fine. "I'll be reimbusring him personally. Please feel free to contact me," Ochocinco wrote.
