Chargers starting WR Malcom Floyd was knocked out of Sunday night's preseason game in Dallas after suffering a concussion, according to the team.
Floyd caught a pass over the middle of the field and was hit and wrapped up by Cowboys S Gerald Sensabaugh. The hit wasn't anything out of the ordinary, but with Floyd's arms wrapped up, he fell to the ground and banged his head against the artificial surface at Cowboys Stadium.
Floyd was holding his back when he left the field, but the team announced that he would not be returning to the game because of a concussion.
The way we see it
This is a blow to the Chargers' WR corps, though if Floyd is able to return by the start of the regular season, it shouldn't set the San Diego offense much.
Richard Goodman, a one-year veteran out of Florida State, saw action against the Cowboys with Floyd sidelined.
