Lions RB Jahvid Best left Friday's game at Cleveland with an undisclosed injury.
Best, the Lions' starter, had one catch for nine yards and rushed twice, losing one yard. All of his touches came on the Lions' first possession. He fumbled on his final carry, with Browns DE Jabaal Sheard recovering. Best has not played thereafter, with the club reporting on its Twitter feed that he "was taken into the locker room for further observation" in the first half.
According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, Best was on the sideline in uniform save for his helmet to begin the second half.
Best, 22, rushed for 555 yards and added 487 yards receiving as a rookie in 2010. Mikel Leshoure, expected to be the top backup to Best, suffered a season-ending Achilles tendon injury earlier in August.
