PFW caught up with Falcons DE John Abraham this week and asked him if he and his fellow defensive linemen are licking their chops as they look ahead to lining up across from the Bears' offensive line in Week One.

"I'm actually doing the exact opposite," Abraham said. "I figure if they know they have a good pass rusher or a good pass-rushing team coming in, they're probably going to work a little harder to try to stop the individual or the team from doing stuff. I'm not expecting a lot from that game, not as much as everybody thinks."

Chicago's O-line gave up nine sacks in its preseason opener after allowing QB Jay Cutler to be sacked a league-high 52 times last season, and Abraham, a 12th-year veteran, is one of the league's most productive sack artists. He finished fifth in the league with 13 last season. With the free-agent addition of DE Ray Edwards, the Falcons are expecting more from their pass rush in 2011.

"I don't get my hopes up too high," Abraham said. "… I know (the Bears are) going to be looking out for me. … They're going to circle me and I know I'm going to be somebody they have to worry about."
