The Patriots announced on Wednesday that they have released OL Mark LeVoir.
A fifth-year veteran, LeVoir played in 32 games with two starts for the Patriots in the last three seasons. He played in all 16 games in '08 and just six games last season.
LeVoir started at right guard for the Pats in their preseason opener last week.
The way we see it
This likely means that backup OT Steve Maneri has played well enough to join Nate Solder as the team's top backups at the tackle position, and LeVoir must not have shown enough at guard to prove he should stick with the team as a reserve on the interior. Maneri started the preseason opener at right tackle.
