The NFL has fined Jaguars LB Mike Lockley $20,000 for an unsafe play during last week's preseason opener vs. the Patriots.

Lockley was penalized for unnecessary roughness for the play, where he hit New England WR Taylor Price by with his helmet during the fourth quarter of the game. The penalty took away an interception for the Jaguars.

Lockley, an undrafted free agent from Florida Atlantic, will be required to pay the fine only if he makes a regular-season roster, either with the Jaguars or another team. He also can appeal the fine.
