Pete Pihos, an Eagles receiver from 1947-55 and member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, passed away in Winston-Salem, N.C. on Tuesday morning. He was 87 and had suffered from Alzheimer's disease.

Pihos made the Pro Bowl six times and was one of the premier receivers of his era. He led the NFL in receptions each season from 1953-55 and helped Philadelphia win the NFL Championship in 1948 and '49.

For his career, he had 373 receptions for 5,619 yards and 61 touchdowns.

Pihos also spent time at defensive end for the team. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1970.
