The Bengals released veteran DT Tank Johnson on Tuesday morning.

Johnson played in only seven games for Cincinnati last season due to a knee injury. He did not play in the team's embarrassing 34-3 loss to the Lions on Friday.

A seven-year vet, Johnson has also played for the Bears and Cowboys before signing with the Bengals prior to the '09 season. His best season came in that debut season with the team, when he helped Cincinnati win the AFC North, finishing with 29 tackles and two sacks.

The Bengals also released veteran TE Garrett Mills.
