The Patriots announced Tuesday that they will dedicate the 2011 NFL season to the memory of Myra Kraft, the wife of owner Robert Kraft, who died on July 20.
Every Patriots player and coach will wear a patch with her initials on it starting this Thursday in the team's first preseason game and in every game throughout the season.
"Myra touched the lives of so many people," said Patriots DT Vince Wilfork. "My conversations with her were never about football. She always asked about my family and always made me feel as if I were a part of hers. By her example, she made us all want to give more and to make a positive impact in our communities. We are proud to dedicate the 2011 season to Myra Kraft."
Prior to the regular-season home opener on Sept. 18, a moment of silence will be held to honor Myra Kraft.
