Vikings backup QB Rhett Bomar was arrested early Sunday morning on charges of third-degree drunken driving. He was arrested near downtown Mankato, where the Vikings are holding their training camp.
Bomar, a two-year NFL veteran, joined the Vikings from the Giants' practice squad in late December. He was a fifth-round pick by the Giants in 2009.
The way we see it
Bomar was a long shot to make the team as he had been getting practice reps behind Donovan McNabb, Christian Ponder and Joe Webb. This won't help his cause.
