The Patriots announced Monday that they have re-signed DL Gerard Warren. Terms of the contract were not announced. The team also announced that it has released S Brandon McGowan.

Warren, a 6-4, 325-pound 10-year veteran, is entering his second season with New England. Last season, he played in 16 games with 10 starts and finished with 36 tackles and 3½ sacks.

McGowan, a six-year NFL veteran, started 11 games with the Patriots in 2009 before missing all of the ’10 season with a chest injury.
