The Falcons have re-signed RB Jason Snelling to a one-year contract, keeping Michael Turner's top reserve on the roster.

Snelling, an unrestricted free agent, explored his options but opted to return to Atlanta. According to PFW correspondent D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Snelling had spoke with the Giants, Rams and Chiefs before deciding to re-sign with the Falcons.

He is expected to be the team's second-string running back again in 2011, though fifth-round pick Jacquizz Rodgers may cut into some of Snelling's touches.
