The Colts have a void to fill in the secondary following the release of starting LCB Kelvin Hayden, who was disappointing after signing a five-year, $43 million extension prior to the 2009 season. Injuries limited Hayden to 20 games the past two seasons, making it too hard for the Colts to justify paying his $9.1 million salary. The club is deep at cornerback, with a slew of talented, young players, but there doesn't appear to be a clear-cut candidate to win the job. Justin Tryon was terrific after being acquired in a preseason trade last September, but he is best suited as a nickel. Injuries and inconsistency plagued Jacob Lacey last season after his breakout '09 campaign. Keep an eye on '10 third-rounder Kevin Thomas.  At 6-0, 192 pounds, Thomas is similar to Hayden, with good size and playmaking ability. He will have to prove he can stay on the field, however, after missing his entire rookie season with a knee injury, and being slowed in camp the past week with a nagging quad injury.
