Giants CB Prince Amukamara, the 19th overall pick of April's draft, signed his rookie contract on Friday, becoming the final first-round pick to do so.
All 32 first-round picks signed their contracts by Aug. 5, allowing them to take part in most of training camp after minicamps and OTAs were canceled because of the lockout. The new rookie wage scale helped minimize the amount of rookie holdouts.
"It depends on how fast he can learn a new language," head coach Tom Coughlin said about Amukamara joining the team on the field Friday evening. "It is Chinese to him right now, so he has a lot of work to do that way."
The Giants also waived/injured CB Bruce Johnson, who ruptured his right Achilles tendon in practice on Thursday. Johnson played in six games and made five tackles last season.
