Eagles DT Mike Patterson, who suffered a seizure at training camp on Wednesday, has a brain condition called arteiovenous malformation (AVM).

Team trainer Rick Burkholder said the condition is due to a tangle of blood vessels outside Patterson's brain.

According to the team's Twitter, Burkholder said that it is "foolish to speculate as to if he'll play football this year, next year … We don't know."

Patterson's seizure lasted four minutes and he was alert and stable at the hospital. "Patterson is in good spirits," Burkholder said, Thursday, adding that Patterson was worried more about "low DT numbers."

Patterson, 27, is on medication to prevent another seizure.

The six-year NFL veteran recorded 37 tackles and two sacks in 15 games last season.
