The Texans announced Wednesday that they have signed former Browns FB Lawrence Vickers, an unrestricted free agent. The 6-0, 250-pound Vickers is expected to replace Pro Bowler Vonta Leach (who signed with the Ravens) as Arian Foster's lead back.

According to PFW Texans correspondent John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, the deal is for $3 million for two years with a $500,000 signing bonus. Vickers, 28, grew up in Beaumont, Texas, and is a Houston resident. He played his first five NFL seasons with the Browns.

"I'm not just a lead blocker," Vickers said Wednesday. "I can run and I can catch. Vonte is Vonte. I'm not Vonte. I'm me. I bring a whole new dimension back there."

TE James Casey, the backup fullback, also is in the mix for Leach's former job.
