Tiki Barber, the former Giants running back who is attempting a return after four seasons away from football, worked out for the Dolphins earlier this week. The news was first reported by Jay Glazer of FOX Sports and confirmed by the Miami Herald.
The Dolphins are going through a major overhaul at the position, losing veteran Ronnie Brown in free agency but adding Daniel Thomas through the draft and Reggie Bush via trade with the Saints. Barber would likely be the third-string running back were he to sign with the Dolphins.
Glazer tweeted that Barber's visit to Miami was the first team workout he's gone through since announcing his return. The team will not sign the veteran, according to the report, until they see how their new group of backs does in game situations.
