The Rams continue to add insurance for RB Steven Jackson, reportedly agreeing with free agent RB Carnell 'Cadillac' Williams on a contract on Wednesday. Earlier in the week they signed former Falcons RB Jerious Norwood.
Williams has had a history of knee injuries during his six-year career, all with the Buccaneers, but should be a strong backup for Jackson and Norwood. Last season he played in all 16 games for the first second straight season, finishing with 437 rushing yards a pair of touchdowns.
The way we see it
Backup running back was one of the Rams' top priorities entering the offseason, and they have accomplished that with these two signings. The 'Cadillac' may not have much air left in his tires, but he should be able to relieves some pressure off of Jackson.
