C Casey Rabach, who had reportedly agreed to a contract with Baltimore, is back on the free-agent market after he failed a physical with the Ravens.
According to multiple media outlets, a shoulder injury, which bothered Rabach last season while he was with the Redskins, was the cause of decision. Rabach had surgery on the shoulder during the offseason, but according to The (Baltimore) Sun, the center still needs two or three more weeks of recovery time.
The Ravens are in need of a center because their starter at the position, Matt Birk, is due to miss some time because of knee surgery he recently underwent.
The way we see it
Adding another center is a must for the Ravens, considering Birk's injury. Bears UFA C Olin Kreutz and Saints UFA C Jonathan Goodwin are among the veteran centers available.
