RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis, who went from unknown backup to starting running back last season, re-signed with the Patriots on Wednesday. The restricted free agent will be able to practice with the team once the new CBA is officially signed, which could happen on Thursday.

Green-Ellis, who has been nicknamed the "Law Firm," set personal career highs in 2010 in every offensive category. He rushed for more than 1,000 yards and his 13 rushing touchdowns were tied for second in the NFL, trailing only rushing leader Arian Foster. This was all despite sharing time with fellow RB Danny Woodhead.

Green-Ellis is expected to once again share time in the backfiled with Woodhead, along with two rookie running backs — second-rounder Shane Vereen and third-rounder Stevan Ridley.

The Patriots also signed unrestricted free agent C Chris Morris. Morris has played in 51 games with 11 starts, playing both guard and center. The team cut RB Thomas Clayton.
