The Redskins announced Tuesday morning that they have re-signed CB Phillip Buchanon, but the terms were undisclosed. The team added that Buchanon has been suspended by the NFL for the first four games of the regular season but did not give the reason for the suspension.
Buchanon, a 10th-year veteran, was the Redskins' third cornerback last season, but he did make five starts in place of Carlos Rogers when Rogers was out because of injury. Buchanon finished with 49 tackles, two forced fumbles and two interceptions.
The Miami (Fla.) product also has played with the Raiders, Texans, Buccaneers and Lions.
