The Broncos have signed free-agent DL Ty Warren to a two-year contract, adding depth to a major position of need for the team.

Warren was released by the Patriots last week after New England acquired Albert Haynesworth in a trade. The lineman last played in the NFL in 2009, missing all of the '10 slate due to a preseason hip injury.

In seven seasons — all with the Patriots — Warren was a strong run stuffer and solid pass rusher, recording 20.5 career sacks. He could play both end and tackle for Denver, who has holes at both positions on their defensive line.

Already in free agency the Broncos have acquired DE Derrick Harvey and DT Jeremy Jarmon, while also re-signing DT Marcus Thomas.

Accorrding to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Warren signed a two-year contract for $10 million; $2.5 million of that is guaranteed.
