The Vikings agreed to terms with first-round QB Christian Ponder, his agent Jimmy Sexton told the Pioneer Press.
The 12th overall pick in April's draft will get around $11 million fully guaranteed in the four-year deal with an option for a fifth year.
Ponder, out of Florida State, will start the season as the backup to veteran QB Donovan McNabb, whom the Vikings traded for last week.
The Vikings hope that Ponder is the team's quarterback of the future. He had a good showing at the Senior Bowl, which helped skyrocket his stock leading up to the draft.
