All along, CB Ike Taylor seemed the Steelers' top priority to retain in free agency, and indeed, Pittsburgh agreed to a four-year deal with him early in free agency. There was more doubt about whether the Steelers would keep ORT Willie Colon, who missed last season with an Achilles tendon injury. But Pittsburgh kept him in the fold, signing him to a contract reportedly worth $29 million contract over five years. Colon was the Steelers' top lineman two seasons ago, and it is believed he drew strong interest from Chicago. With Colon staying, the Steelers cut Flozell Adams, who started every game last season but was expendable upon Colon's return. The Steelers also released OLT Max Starks, who started 38 games the last four seasons. The new starter on the left side could well be Jonathan Scott, who filled in for Starks after he suffered a neck injury last season. Scott reportedly signed a two-year deal.
