Make no mistake: Our Cardinals sources agree that the Kevin Kolb trade with the Eagles in exchange for former Pro Bowl CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and a second-round draft choce in 2012 is a make-or-break maneuver by head coach Ken Whisenhunt. "If Kolb flops, it puts a huge stain on the Whisenhunt regime," one team insider told PFW. "Obviously, they paid a premium to get him; the early reaction is that most fans think the team gave up way too much, so Kolb is under considerable pressure. But Whisenhunt told us right away that, if he's going to go down, he's comfortable doing it with a guy as tough and talented as Kolb." Equally important, we hear, was a seal of approval from star WR Larry Fitzgerald, who quietly worked out for one week with Kolb this offseason at Arizona State's indoor practice facility. "No question he (Fitzgerald) feels comfortable with the trade," the insider said.
